New to the game or need a refresher? Here's the quick version. Fraser Valley Cornhole plays under the official Cornhole Canada rules — the authoritative rulebook is linked below.
The complete, governing rules — equipment specs, fouls, scoring, and tournament play. This is the final word; our summary below is just to get you started.
Cornhole is played one-on-one (singles) or two-on-two (doubles). Two boards face each other, and players take turns tossing bags at the far board, aiming for the hole.
Only one side scores each round. Add up each side's points for the round, then subtract the lower total from the higher — the difference goes to the higher side. So if you score 5 and your opponent scores 3, you get 2 points that round and they get none.
Games are typically played to 21 points. Exact win conditions (win-by margins, busts, and match formats) are set out in the official rulebook and can vary by event — check the rules linked above or ask an organizer at league night.
Eligibility depends on the type of event:
Under Cornhole Canada, leagues may adopt variations to the official rules for internal play, provided they're more restrictive than the written rules. Any FVC-specific adjustments will be explained at league night.
